I came here Friday lunchtime, 19th April, with my wife and daughter, having noticed it had opened under new proprietors, it was Merlin’s cafe before, we always went there for breakfast or lunch, so was sad to see it had closed. So we thought we would give this place a try, didn’t disappoint, TDF opened in January this year. It has the same setting as I remembered from before, good atmosphere, great service from the staff and great food at reasonable prices. There was more choice on the menu, and I noticed there were many people calling in for takeaways, as well as people dining in and there was lots of selection on the counter with different salad boxes, pies, tasty sandwiches, lovely homemade cakes which looked so tasty. We will definitely be calling again. Hopefully many of you foodies who live local will give this place a visit and get behind new businesses like this. That’s the only way little gems like this will be open for many years to come. You will not be disappointed and also I noticed they are open Saturday and Sunday which unfortunately Merlin’s only opened Monday to Friday. I was told they were bringing a new menu out again in a couple of weeks. Please support your local businesses, even people from outside area should try.

Supercars of Scarisbrick – A Petrolhead’s Escape in an Unexpected Setting Tucked away in the open countryside of Lancashire, you'd be forgiven for thinking you're lost in farmland—until you take one final turn and a huge industrial estate suddenly rises out of nowhere, humming with noise, colour, and the scent of high-octane enthusiasm. This is Supercars of Scarisbrick—a brilliantly unfiltered and unexpectedly impressive car meet that’s fast becoming one of the best grassroots automotive gatherings in the North West. It’s hosted at the beating heart of the estate: Tour De Franks café, a local gem that blends its cycling-themed roots (the name's a cheeky nod to the Tour de France) with a passion for proper food, proper coffee, and community spirit. And together, they’ve built something that goes far beyond just parked cars. Whether you’ve got a Ferrari 458, a slammed Civic, a big-power M3 or just a camera and a deep love of machines, you’re welcome here. There’s a sense of inclusion from the moment you arrive—no ticket booths, no egos, just people and machines gathered for the pure love of it. And the variety on show is staggering. One minute you’re admiring the sharp lines of a McLaren, the next you’re face-to-face with an immaculate Lotus Carlton or a low-slung ’68 Camaro with the kind of idle that rattles your chest. On any given weekend, the lot might be filled with tuned Euros, pristine JDM icons, air-cooled classics, or modern muscle. It’s a rotating gallery of some of the UK’s finest privately owned cars, all just… there. And the owners? More than happy to chat, swap stories, and nerd out over brake setups or ECU maps. What makes this meet work so well is that it’s rooted in real enthusiasm. There’s no corporate gloss. No over-hyped sponsor boards or generic “scene” posturing. This is organic, grassroots car culture being done right. And with the quality and range of what turns up, it punches way above its weight. Then there’s the food—which honestly deserves a visit in its own right. Tour De Franks café doesn’t just “do food for car meets,” it puts pride on every plate. Ingredients are locally sourced, the coffee is strong and proper, and the menu is refreshingly well put together whether you want a light bite or a full English with extra everything. On meet days it’s rammed, of course, but the staff are fast, friendly, and somehow manage to keep things flowing without losing the quality. Inside, the vibe is distinctly cycling-focused—plenty of nods to the Tour de France and two-wheeled heroes—but it doesn’t feel exclusive. It just gives the café personality, and that spills over into the event as a whole. It’s part car meet, part café hangout, part countryside escape. Families come along. Dogs are welcome. Kids run around with ice cream while their parents chat over bonnet lines and fuel maps. It’s that kind of vibe. And while the meet itself is the obvious draw, the setting actually adds to the experience. That sudden emergence from rural roads into a wide-open industrial estate makes the whole thing feel like you've stumbled upon a hidden world. There's space for everyone, and despite the volume of traffic in and out, it's well-managed and respectful. Whether you’re here to show, shoot, or just sip a coffee and soak it all in, Supercars of Scarisbrick is an unmissable stop on the enthusiast circuit. It’s got heart, horsepower, and hospitality in equal measure—and once you’ve been, you’ll absolutely be back.

Frank provided sandwich platters for our daughter's christening. Service was excellent and the food fantastic. He dropped them off to the venue for us and ensured we were happy. Thanks Frank, top service. Would definitely use again to cater for another party!
